What is a Memory Board?
The Grad Night Committee supplies each family with a blank 30 x 24 inches corrugated poster board. Each family is encouraged to decorate the poster board with photos, items that represent the student’s life, and the student's name. Memory boards are displayed on campus during Grad Night and in the days leading up to Graduation. Seniors LOVE their memory boards and really enjoy looking at their friends’ boards. They are keepsakes that your student will take home with them after Grad Night. All boards will be prominently displayed during Grad Night for all the students to enjoy. How do I decorate the board?
Decorate the white smooth side of the board. Keep the board in a landscape (horizontal) direction so that it is 30 inches wide and 24 inches high.
- Your student’s name should be easily visible on the board
- You may cover the board with an appropriate theme or color. SHS school colors, college colors, or your student's favorite color are popular choices.
- Add photos, mementos, special awards, baby pictures, meaningful decals, stickers, etc. Use your imagination! Have fun!
- If you need ideas, there is a binder in the office next to the Memory Board sign up with ideas from past years. Pinterest is another great source for ideas.
- Be sure all items are firmly attached.
- Boards CANNOT exceed 30 x 24 inches in size.
- Do NOT use 3-D decorations. Do not laminate or frame your board. They make the boards too heavy and bulky to hang!
